ayurveda.gifAyurveda directly translated from Sanskrit means the Science of Life and is the Indian art of healing and the science of longevity. Ayurveda focuses on the holistic health of patients, encompassing the mind, body, and spirit connection of wholeness in ensuring physical, mental, and spiritual balance. Modern scientists and medical experts agree that Ayurveda is the oldest medical system and the most holistic. The oral tradition and ancient wisdom of healing, prevention, and longevity was the basis of Ayurveda before it was ever written down. It emphasizes establishing balance in the mind, body, and spirit through diet, lifestyle, exercise, and body cleansing. The various forms of balance therapies include yoga, meditation, colors, herbs, aroma, diet, gems, cleansing, massages, and many more. By uniting the body, mind, and soul, the Ayurveda patient can restore the body’s immune system to equilibrium and foster longevity, a peaceful mind, and spirituality. An Ayurveda treatment is tailored to the individual. Just as everyone has a unique fingerprint, it is believed that everyone has their own special mind, body, spirit combinations related to their doshas. The Pitta (air and space), Vata (Fire and water), and Kapha (Water and Earth) doshas are the basis of this balance. In Ayurveda, it is believed that health exists when there is equilibrium between three primary physical doshas called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. A person may have of a predominant dosha or constitution, but everybody has all 3 energies and will experience each dosha to a lesser or greater degree. When the doshas are in equilibrium they are called the Tridhatus. The body in which the three doshas are in a state of equilibrium is said to be in perfect health.

Why Choose Ayurveda

ayurveda2.gifAyurveda may be one answer to the increasing demands on our bodies and minds from environmental toxins and pollution. These ancient techniques combine emotional, spiritual, and physical healing into a holistic system through which the person can boost the immune system in order to help the body heal. When the doshas are in balance an individual remains healthy, whereas any imbalance in equilibrium of dosha leads to ailment. Ayurveda is based on universal principles and is a living, growing body of knowledge that is just as useful today as it was in earlier centuries. More than 200 medicinal plants and herbs have been discovered and used for healing ailments. Many plants were worshiped as deities and invoked by incantations; these divine plants that sustain long life and good health are now being rediscovered. For many centuries many of the rare herbs and treasures were reserved for only the royal customers; but today there is a revival of the ancient culture and traditions inherent to Ayurveda, which is a wonderful legacy of an ancient civilization to the modern world. Just as each person has a unique fingerprint, each person has a unique way of living and healing. Ayurveda is a complete, holistic system that integrates the mind, body, and spirit and encourages followers to seek balance by structuring behavior and/or environment to balance the element(s) their dosha lacks. It gives emphasis to the nature of the equilibrium of body care, mental regulation, and spiritual refinement.
